MYK Laticrete DWA 215® is a single-component, ready-to-use modified polyurethane paste adhesive for interior tile installations - open the pail and apply directly, no mixing required. Classified as D2TE under EN 12004 / ISO 13007 and exceeding ANSI A136.1 and IS 15477:2019, it delivers initial shear adhesion greater than 1.5 MPa with a 30-minute open time, 20-minute adjustability window, and a non-sag formulation (slip less than 0.5 mm) for vertical wall installations. Application Guidelines

Step-by-Step Application

  1. Surface preparation: Surfaces must be straight (max 6mm deviation per 3m), clean, and free from dust, oil, grease, laitance, and loose paint. Drywall fasteners must be flush before application.
  2. Open the pail: Stir smoothly with a clean tool. Do not add water, latex, sand, or any admixtures — this permanently destabilises the adhesive.
  3. Apply and comb: Press the flat trowel edge firmly to scratch paste into the substrate, then comb in a single horizontal direction only — not circular. Only comb what can be tiled within 10 minutes.
  4. Back-butter and place: Wipe the tile back clean, apply a thin skim coat of adhesive, press firmly into the combed bed, and tap with a rubber mallet. Use spacers for uniform joints. Allow minimum 24 hours before foot traffic.

DWA 215® is a single-component ready-to-use paste - open and apply directly, no mixing. DWA 215® Plus is a two-part system (Part A liquid resin + Part B powder catalyst) that must be mechanically combined on-site before use, specified for more demanding applications requiring higher performance.

2) What happens if the adhesive skins over before I place the tile?

Do not add water to a skinned surface - it will not restore bond strength. Scrape off the skinned paste, discard it, and apply fresh adhesive. Work within the 10-minute window after combing, especially in hot or dry conditions where open time shortens.

3) Is DWA 215® suitable for swimming pools or exterior facades?
