This Modular Fan Cover Cap gives a neat, finished look to your ceiling fan installation. When the fan canopy doesn't fully hide rough plaster or an oversized hole made during construction, this 12 cm round cover cap hides the gap cleanly. Simply remove the central knock-out and slide it over a standard 1" (25.4 mm) downrod.
Made from non-conductive PVC in a clean white finish, it blends in with standard ceilings and fan fittings. With the central knock-out left in place, it also works as a flat dummy cover to neatly close off unused ceiling junction boxes. Two fixing holes let you screw it firmly to the ceiling box. The plate is a cover only – it does not carry any of the fan's weight, which must always hang from a proper ceiling fan hook.

Recommendations & Ideal Use-Cases
Where this fits best
- Ceiling Fans: Slides over the downrod to hide messy holes and plaster gaps
- Unused Junction Boxes: Neatly covers unused ceiling boxes or point outlets
- Homes & Offices: Clean ceiling finish in bedrooms, living rooms, offices and shops
- Renovations: Replaces old, discoloured or cracked ceiling covers
Installation & Safety
- Turn Off Power: Switch off the supply at the MCB and make sure the fan has fully stopped
- Prepare the Plate: For a fan, push out the central knock-out and pass the downrod through. For a dummy cover, leave the knock-out in place and line the plate up over the junction box
- Secure It: Push the plate flush against the ceiling and screw it to the ceiling box through the 2 fixing holes
- Check & Restore Power: Make sure the plate sits flat and doesn't touch any moving fan parts, then switch the power back on
Note: This plate is a cover only. The fan must always hang from a proper ceiling fan hook. When covering an unused junction box, any wires inside must be safely terminated and insulated first by a qualified electrician.
1) What is this cover used for?
The fan cover cap hides rough ceiling cutouts and plaster gaps around a fan downrod, or neatly covers an unused ceiling junction box for a clean, finished look.
2) What size is it?
It is a round plate, 12 cm (120 mm) in diameter and 0.5 cm (5 mm) thick – large enough to cover most oversized fan holes and standard ceiling box openings.
3) Will it fit my fan rod?
Yes, for standard rods. Once the central knock-out is removed, the approx. 37 mm (1.5") opening provides clearance to slide over a standard 1" (25.4 mm) outer diameter ceiling fan downrod. If your fan has a thicker downrod, measure it before ordering.
4) Can I use it as a closed cover?
Yes. The centre is a knock-out, so it stays closed until you push it out. Leave it in place to use the plate as a flat dummy cover over an unused ceiling junction box.
5) Is it safe over electrical points?
Yes. PVC is non-conductive, so it is a safe cover material. When using it to cover an unused junction box, any live wires inside must first be properly terminated and insulated by an electrician.
6) Can it be used outdoors?
It is made for indoor ceilings and covered outdoor areas such as balconies and porches, where it is protected from direct rain and strong sunlight.
7) Can I paint it to match my ceiling?
Yes. Lightly sand the surface and apply a plastic-compatible primer before painting it in your ceiling colour.
8) Will I receive the same brand as shown in the images?
The brand supplied is subject to stock availability and may differ from the images on our website and app. All supplied products meet the same specifications.
