Hi-Fi Hi-Class EME Fan Step Regulators give quiet, steady speed control for ceiling fans. Their capacitor-based step design runs cooler and uses less power at lower speeds than old resistive regulators, and is designed to keep motor hum to a minimum.

Choose the compact 30031, a 1-module, 4-step switch-type regulator, or the 30032, a 2-module, 5-step full-rotation regulator for finer speed control. Both are rated 100 W at 240 V~, made from flame-retardant polycarbonate in white, and fit Hi-Fi Hi-Class modular plates.

Note on knob rotation: The 30031 turns from Off through steps 1 – 4 and then stops; turn it back anti-clockwise to switch off. The 30032 rotates a full 360°, so after step 5 one more click forward loops straight back to Off.

1) Will the fan buzz at low speeds?

These regulators use step capacitors rather than the current-chopping circuits in basic electronic regulators, which are a common cause of fan hum. They are designed for smooth, quiet speed changes at every step.

2) Can one regulator run two fans?

It is not recommended. Even if the total is under 100 W, two fans on one regulator can run unevenly and wear faster. Use one regulator per fan.

3) What is the difference between 30031 and 30032?

30031 is a slim 1-module regulator with 4 speed steps. 30032 takes 2 modules and has 5 speed steps with a full-rotation knob. Both handle up to 100 W.

4) How does the knob rotation differ between the two?

The 30031 (4 Step Switch Type) has a fixed stop: it clicks 0 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 and then stops, so you turn it all the way back anti-clockwise to switch off. The 30032 (5 Step Full Rotation) turns a full 360°: it clicks 0 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5, and one more click forward loops straight back to 0 (Off) without turning backwards.

5) Will they fit other brands' switch plates?

They are designed for Hi-Fi Hi-Class modular plates and frames. If you use another brand's plates, check module compatibility before buying.
