- The LS110P has 10/100 Mbps ports, not Gigabit. TP-Link lists it as a "10-Port 10/100Mbps Desktop Switch with 8-Port PoE+"
- For standard IP cameras that is ample — a 1080p camera stream is a few Mbps
- If you need Gigabit PoE, look at the LS108GP (8 Gigabit PoE+ ports, 62 W) or LS105GP (4 Gigabit PoE+ ports, 65 W) instead
- Budget is the number that matters. Add up what your devices draw and stay under the switch total, or ports will shut down
- Use Cat5e or better. PoE performance and reach depend on cable quality more than anything else
- Extend mode trades speed for distance. It reaches 250 m but drops those ports to 10 Mbps — fine for a standard camera, not for high-bitrate video
1) Are these Gigabit ports?
No. The LS110P has 10/100 Mbps ports. For IP cameras that is normally plenty, since a 1080p stream is only a few Mbps. If you need Gigabit PoE, the LS108GP or LS105GP are the LiteWave models to look at.
2) How many cameras can it power?
Up to 8 PoE devices within a 96 W total budget. A typical fixed camera draws 4–8 W, so eight is realistic with headroom to spare.
3) Do the two non-PoE ports still work?
Yes — all 10 ports carry data. Two of them simply do not supply power, so use those for your recorder or router uplink.
4) Is it noisy?
No. It is fanless, so it makes no sound at all — which matters if it sits in a reception area or a small office rather than a comms cupboard.
5) Do I need to configure anything?
No. It is unmanaged and plug and play. Extend Mode is enabled by a hardware switch on the unit.
