Ozone Floor Hinge OFH-6600 is a single cylinder concealed floor spring for glass and wooden doors — carrying the door’s weight and controlling its closing action from a recess in the floor.

A floor spring does two jobs at once, and that is why frameless glass entrances use them rather than overhead closers. It carries the entire weight of the door on its spindle, and it controls the closing action hydraulically. There are no hinges and no visible closer — the mechanism sits in a recess in the floor, hidden under a cover plate.

That is what makes a frameless glass door look the way it does. Nothing interrupts the glass except the patch fittings, because everything mechanical is underfoot. The trade-off is that the floor has to be prepared before the door goes in — a recess formed in the slab, level and drained. Retrofitting one into a finished floor means breaking it up.
