Ozone Door Closer Mounting Plate for NSK-780 is the fixing plate that lets an overhead door closer be installed on a glass door.

It exists because glass cannot be drilled once toughened and offers no frame to screw into. The plate clamps to the panel and presents a solid mounting face, so the closer bolts to the plate rather than to the glass. Without it there is simply no way to attach an overhead closer to a frameless glass door.

It is matched to the NSK-780. Mounting plates are not interchangeable between closer models — the fixing centres and load paths differ, so the wrong plate either will not bolt up or will not carry the load correctly.

1) What does the mounting plate do?

It gives an overhead door closer something solid to fix to on a glass door. Glass cannot be drilled after toughening and has no frame, so the plate clamps to the panel and the closer bolts to the plate.

2) Is the closer included?

No. This is the mounting plate only — the NSK-780 closer is sold separately. You need both.

3) Will it fit any Ozone closer?

No. It is made for the NSK-780. Fixing centres and load paths differ between models, so the wrong plate either will not bolt up or will not carry the load safely.

4) Do I need one for a wooden door?

No. On a wooden or metal door the closer screws directly into the frame. The plate exists specifically to solve the problem that glass presents.
