Jaquar Kubix Prime Wall Mounted Single Lever Basin Mixer (KUP-CHR-35233NKPM) is the visible half of a concealed basin mixer: an operating lever, wall flange and spout that sit on the tiled wall above the basin, in chrome.

The appeal is what it leaves out. A deck mixer puts a tap, a base and a ring of water-trapping gaps on the counter or basin. A wall mounted mixer takes all of it off the surface. The counter stays clear, there is nothing to wipe around, and it pairs naturally with a table top or vessel basin whose raised bowl a short deck tap cannot clear.

It is worth being clear what the box contains. Jaquar supplies concealed mixers as two separate parts: the concealed body, which is the working valve and is built into the wall, and the exposed part kit, which is what you see and touch. This listing is the exposed kit, and Jaquar lists it as compatible with the ALD-233N or ALD-235N concealed body. We stock the ALD-CHR-233N.

The split has a practical benefit. The visible trim can be changed or serviced later without opening the wall, and the spout nipple can be cut to suit the depth of the wall at installation, which absorbs normal variation in tile thickness. It only becomes a problem when someone buys the kit expecting a complete tap.

The build is brass throughout, made to IS standards, with a nickel 10 micron and chromium 0.3 micron plated finish validated to 500+ hours of salt spray and a passed adhesion test. In a bathroom, where steam, soap and hard water attack a finish every day, plating that survives that test is what keeps the chrome from pitting and peeling.

1) Is this a complete basin mixer?

No. This is the exposed part kit only: the operating lever, cartridge sleeve, wall flange, nipple and spout. The working valve is the concealed body, ALD-233N or ALD-235N, which is a separate purchase built into the wall before tiling. Neither half works without the other.

2) What water pressure and temperature does it need?

It works across 0.5 to 5 bar, and Jaquar recommends 1 to 3 bar for optimum output, with water between 5 and 65 °C. At 3 bar the flow is 13.30 LPM, and Jaquar notes the figure can vary by about 10%.

3) Which basins does a wall mounted mixer suit?

Basins where the tap is not on the basin itself, most commonly table top and vessel basins and any basin with no tap hole. The spout must reach over the bowl, so set the mixer's height and its distance from the basin at first fix, using the 2D drawing.

4) Can the spout length be adjusted to my tile thickness?

Yes. Jaquar's installation guide has you measure the depth of the threaded hole and, if needed, cut the spout nipple to length, then apply Teflon tape after cutting. The finished tile surface must sit between the minimum and maximum levels shown in the guide.

5) How should I clean it?

Use a soft cotton cloth and a mild liquid soap (pH 5 to 7), and do not scrub. Jaquar recommends cleaning twice a week. To clear scale from the aerator, soak it in descaling solution for about an hour. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which dull the plating.
