Taparia Water Pump Plier 1225N is a 250 mm plier with a multi-position adjustment and angled serrated jaws — the plumber’s plier, made for gripping pipe and large fittings.

Two design features do the work. The multi-position slip joint gives several jaw settings rather than the two on an ordinary slip joint plier, so one tool covers a very wide range of sizes — a small nut to a substantial pipe fitting. And the jaws stay parallel across those positions, so the grip is even at every setting rather than only at one.

The angled jaws are the detail that matters in real plumbing. Pipework runs along walls, under sinks and behind fittings, and an angled jaw lets you get a square grip on a pipe while your hand is off to one side — which is usually the only position available. The serrations bite into round surfaces that a smooth jaw would simply slide around.
