MYK Laticrete DWA 215® is a single-component, ready-to-use polyurethane-modified dispersion paste adhesive for interior tile installations - open the pail and apply directly, no mixing required. Classified as D2TE (Improved Dispersion Adhesive with extended open time and slip resistance) under EN 12004 / ISO 13007 and exceeding ANSI A136.1 and IS 15477:2019, it delivers initial shear adhesion greater than 1.5 MPa with a 30-minute open time, 20-minute adjustability window, and a non-sag formulation (slip less than 0.5 mm) for vertical wall installations. Structurally flexible, it suits substrates subject to thermal expansion and minor deflection - drywall, plywood, tile-on-tile, and pre-cast concrete. Standard DWA 215® is optimized for commercial and residential interior tiles up to a maximum size of 600mm x 600mm (2ft x 2ft); truly large-format tiles and heavy stone slabs require the two-part engineered system, DWA 215® Plus. Very Low VOC, Green Building certified. Do not add water, latex, sand, or any admixtures - this permanently destabilises the chemical matrix.

1) What is the difference between DWA 215® and DWA 215® Plus?

DWA 215® is a single-component ready-to-use paste - open and apply directly, no mixing. DWA 215® Plus is a two-part system (Part A liquid resin + Part B powder catalyst) that must be mechanically combined on-site before use, specified for more demanding applications such as large-format tiles and heavy stone slabs requiring higher performance.

2) What happens if the adhesive skins over before I place the tile?

Do not add water to a skinned surface - it will not restore bond strength. Scrape off the skinned paste, discard it, and apply fresh adhesive. Work within the 10-minute window after combing, especially in hot or dry conditions where open time shortens.

3) Is DWA 215® suitable for swimming pools or exterior facades?

No - it is not engineered for permanent underwater submersion or exterior building facades. For pools or exterior stone cladding, consult the MYK Laticrete catalogue for an exterior-grade cementitious thinset with high-bond latex.

4) Can I use this adhesive for metal tiles or steel splashbacks?

No - DWA 215® is not suitable for metal or plastic substrates or for installing metal tiles. The manufacturer documentation explicitly excludes these applications.

5) Can I save a partially used pail for future work?

Yes - press the inner plastic lid flush over the paste surface to minimise air contact, snap the outer lid shut, and store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat. Refer to the product TDS for shelf life after opening.
