How to Use

1) Is this chalk powder natural or synthetic?

It is natural whiting chalk (calcium carbonate) sourced from the chalk deposits of Porbandar, Gujarat. It is ground to an ultra-fine 300+ mesh and contains no bleaching agents, synthetic fillers or asbestos, so it is suitable for indoor home work, carpentry and craft projects.

2) How do I use it for wood polishing?

Clean the wood surface first, removing old paint, oil and dust. Mix the chalk with wood polish or NC sealer, about 1:1, or 2:1 (chalk to polish) for deep, open grain, and stir into a smooth, lump-free paste. Rub it firmly across the grain with a cotton cloth or putty knife, let it dry for 2 – 3 hours, then sand smooth with fine emery paper before applying your PU, melamine or other topcoat.

3) Can I use it to make wall putty or fill cracks?

Yes, for small jobs. Mixed with water and a liquid adhesive, it makes an economical putty for hairline cracks, small dents and minor ceiling imperfections. For deep or large plaster cracks, a ready-made wall putty or crack filler is the better choice.
