Two independent settings matter more than a single temperature dial suggests. Paint stripping wants high heat and high volume to cover an area quickly; shrinking heat-shrink sleeving over a cable joint wants controlled heat without a blast of air pushing the sleeve out of position. Being able to set both independently is what makes one tool workable across both jobs.

The flat rear end lets the gun stand upright on the bench, so you can hold the workpiece in both hands and bring it to the heat rather than juggling. Overheat protection guards the element if airflow is restricted, and the tool is double insulated.

1) What is the difference between the HG5030 and HG5030K?

The "K" denotes the kit version — the same gun supplied with four nozzles and a carry case rather than as a bare tool.

2) What are the four nozzles for?

The glass protection nozzle shields glazing when stripping window frames; the reflector nozzle wraps heat around pipe for soldering; the reduction nozzle concentrates heat for plastic welding; the wide slot nozzle spreads heat for drying, thawing, and paint stripping.

3) Can I control temperature and airflow separately?

Both are stage-selected together via the slide switch: stage 1 gives 350 °C at 300 L/min, stage 2 gives 500 °C at 500 L/min. Choose stage 1 for delicate work where a strong blast would displace the workpiece, stage 2 for paint stripping and area coverage.

4) Is it safe to strip paint in an older building?

Take care. Paint in older buildings may contain lead, and heating lead paint releases toxic fumes. Test the paint first, ventilate thoroughly, use proper respiratory protection — or have it removed professionally.

5) Can I use it instead of a blowtorch for soldering copper pipe?

Not for plumbing solder joints — at 500 °C it cannot reliably reach the temperature needed. It's suited to heat-shrink, plastic, thawing, and adhesive work, not brazing.
