Jaquar Single Piece Slim Concealed Cistern (JCS-WHT-2400WS) is an in-wall flushing system on a wall-hung mounting frame, with a dual flush mechanism and an S-type drain connection — rated to carry a wall-hung WC up to 400 kg.

The appeal is what it does to the room. With the cistern and frame buried in the wall and the pan hanging clear of the floor, floor tiles run through unbroken beneath the toilet, cleaning underneath takes seconds rather than scrubbing around a pedestal, and the bathroom reads as larger than it is. Only the flush plate remains visible.

That look depends entirely on one thing: the wall has to be able to carry it. This frame anchors into solid brick masonry or RCC and transfers the load of the pan, the cistern and the person using it into the wall structure. It is the right choice in a building with solid walls, and the wrong one in a bathroom partitioned with drywall, hollow block or glass — where the floor mount version (JCS-WHT-2400FS) puts the load onto the floor instead. That is a structural decision, not a preference, and it is worth confirming with whoever knows the building.

The dual flush gives 3 litres for a half flush and 6 litres for a full one. Across a household's daily use, the gap between flushing 3 and 6 litres every time is the easiest water saving available in a bathroom.

The S-type drain holds a permanent water seal in a curved section of the drain path. That standing water physically blocks sewer gases, odours and insects from travelling back up the line — a trap that dries out is the usual reason a clean bathroom starts to smell.

And the access panel frame is what makes a concealed cistern maintainable. The flush and inlet valves are the parts that eventually need attention, and they are reached through the flush plate opening, from the front, without breaking a tile.

Wall Hung or Floor Mount?

Both versions carry a wall-hung WC — the difference is only where the weight goes. Note that the wall-hung frame is rated lower than the floor mount, because it depends on the wall carrying a suspended load rather than putting weight straight down. Check your wall construction before choosing.

1) How do I know if the wall hung version is right for my bathroom?

It comes down to the wall. This version needs a solid structural wall — RCC concrete or solid brick masonry — capable of supporting up to 400 kg suspended. If your bathroom wall is drywall, hollow block or glass, choose the floor mount version (JCS-WHT-2400FS), which transfers the weight to the floor instead. Have a civil contractor or plumber confirm the wall before you buy.

2) Why is the wall hung frame rated lower than the floor mount?

Because of where the load goes. The floor mount frame (500 kg) puts weight straight down onto the floor. The wall hung frame (400 kg) depends on the wall carrying a suspended load, which is inherently more demanding. The lower figure is not a lesser product — it reflects a harder job, and it is why the wall has to be solid.

3) What else will my plumber need?

Two items beyond the box. A compatible Jaquar flush actuator plate, which is a separate purchase so the cistern can be finished in any design — we stock it bundled with the Kubix and Alive plates. And the wall hung WC pan, which is also separate and is the most expensive thing to overlook. Your plumber will also need connection pipe fittings suited to your layout.

4) How are the valves serviced once the wall is tiled?

Through the flush actuator plate opening, using the built-in access panel frame. Routine servicing, valve repairs and cleaning are all done from the front — no tiles are damaged or removed.

5) Can it be retrofitted during a renovation?

Yes. It requires opening up the wall section where the WC will sit to fit the frame, cistern and plumbing. Everything is connected and leak-tested first, and only then is the wall sealed and retiled. Running the pressure and flush test before tiling is not optional — a leak found afterwards means opening the wall again.
