Jaquar Single Towel Rail 600mm Long is a wall-mounted stainless steel towel rail in chrome, available in the Continental or Kubix Prime range.

600 mm — two feet — is the size that actually works for a bath towel. A bath towel needs to hang spread out across its width to dry properly. On a short rail it bunches, the folds stay pressed together, and it is still damp and starting to smell the next morning. On a 600 mm rail it opens out, air reaches both faces, and it dries between uses. That is the whole function of a towel rail, and length is what delivers it.

The material is worth noting because it is unusual. Jaquar specifies both variants as stainless steel, where most bathroom accessories are chrome-plated brass. A towel rail is the one accessory that genuinely needs it: it is a 600 mm unsupported span carrying a soaking bath towel, which is the only real bending load anywhere in a bathroom. Stainless gives the stiffness to carry that without sagging over the years, and because the corrosion resistance is in the metal itself rather than the plating, a chip or scratch does not start rust underneath.

The choice between the two ranges is styling. Continental is the softer, classic profile that suits curved taps and traditional sanitaryware. Kubix Prime carries that range's sharp squared geometry, for bathrooms fitted with angular mixers and square-bowl basins. Mechanically they are the same rail at the same length in the same material — pick the one that matches what is already on the wall.

Which Range Should I Choose?

  Continental Kubix Prime
Product Code ACN-CHR-1111SM AKP-CHR-35711PS
Length 600 mm 600 mm
Material Stainless steel Stainless steel
Character Softer, classic, understated Sharp, contemporary, squared
Best matched to Curved taps, oval basins, traditional or transitional bathrooms Kubix Prime taps, square basins, modern fitouts

Pick by what is already on the wall. If your taps are Kubix Prime, take the Kubix Prime rail — we also stock Kubix Prime basin mixers, angle valves and the matching towel ring.

Key Features

  • 600 mm length: A bath towel hangs spread out and actually dries, instead of bunching and staying damp
  • Stainless steel: Stiffness to carry a wet towel across an unsupported span without sagging
  • Corrosion resistance in the metal, not the plating: A chip or scratch does not start rust underneath
  • Chrome finish on both, pairing with chrome taps and fittings
  • Two-point wall fixing for a rigid installation
  • Two range styles: Classic Continental or squared Kubix Prime, so the rail matches your taps
  • Part of a full accessory range: Matching towel ring, soap dish, robe hook and paper holder available in both

Before You Order — and Before You Drill

  • Measure the wall you intend to use. A 600 mm rail needs more than 600 mm of clear wall, plus room either side so a hanging towel is not crushed against a corner or a door frame
  • Check the projection against your door swing. A towel rail with a towel on it sticks out further than the rail alone — the figure is in the 2D drawing linked above
  • Fit it near the shower, not over the WC. The point of a rail is a towel you can reach when wet, and one that gets airflow rather than sitting in a corner
  • Use the drawing for the fixing centres. Both brackets must line up exactly — a rail drilled by eye ends up visibly out of level, and on tile you do not get a second attempt
  • Drilling tile needs care. Tile bit, low speed, no hammer action, and drill into the tile body rather than a grout line or tile edge. If you are not confident, use a plumber or handyman — a cracked tile costs far more than the rail
  • Fix into masonry or proper backing, not tile adhesive alone. A wet bath towel is a real load on two brackets

Recommended Applications

Where a towel rail belongs

  • Near the shower or bath: Within reach when you step out, with air around the towel
  • Main family bathrooms: 600 mm takes a full bath towel spread out
  • Alongside a towel ring: Rail for bath towels, ring for hands at the basin — most bathrooms want both
  • Guest bathrooms: A clean, hotel-style place to present a fresh towel
  • Matching accessory sets: As part of a full Continental or Kubix Prime fitout

1) Is 600 mm long enough for a bath towel?

Yes — 600 mm (2 feet) is the standard size for exactly this job. What matters is that the towel hangs spread out across its width. On a shorter rail it bunches, the folds stay pressed together and it is still damp the next morning. At 600 mm it opens out and air reaches both faces.

2) What is the difference between the two variants?

Styling only. Both are 600 mm single towel rails in stainless steel with a chrome finish. Continental has the softer classic profile; Kubix Prime has that range's sharp squared geometry. Choose whichever matches your taps and other accessories.

3) Why stainless steel rather than brass?

Because a towel rail is the one bathroom accessory under real load — a 600 mm unsupported span carrying a soaking bath towel. Stainless gives the stiffness to carry that without sagging over the years. It also resists corrosion through the metal itself rather than relying on plating, so a chip or scratch does not start rust underneath.

4) Towel rail or towel ring — which do I need?

Most bathrooms want both, because they do different jobs. A rail is for bath towels and belongs near the shower, where a towel needs spreading out to dry. A ring holds a hand towel beside the basin, hanging from one point so you can grab it and drop it back. We stock the matching ring in both ranges.

5) Can I fit it myself?

If you are comfortable drilling tile, yes — but use the 2D drawing for the fixing centres. Both brackets must line up exactly, and a rail drilled by eye ends up visibly out of level with no second attempt on tile. Use a tile bit at low speed with no hammer action, drill into the tile body rather than a grout line, and fix into masonry or proper backing rather than adhesive alone.
