CERA Chatter Wash Basin (S2040164) is a compact round-bowl ceramic basin measuring 305 x 335 x 135 mm, in Snow White. At just over 300 mm across it is one of the smaller basins in CERA's range, which makes it a genuinely useful answer to a common problem: powder rooms, under-stair cloakrooms, and utility corners where a full-size basin simply will not fit.

The shallow 135 mm height and semi-circular profile keep the projection tight against the wall. It installs either on a countertop or hung directly on the wall, and comes with a provision for a tap hole, so a standard deck-mounted basin tap can be fitted without drilling ceramic on site.

Small basins do involve a trade-off worth being honest about: less bowl volume means more splashing at a high flow rate. Pairing it with a tap that has a sensible flow and aerator makes a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

1) Is 305 mm too small for everyday use?

For a hand-wash basin in a powder room or cloakroom, it's well judged. For a main family bathroom where people wash their face and brush their teeth, a larger bowl is more comfortable. Match the basin to how the room is actually used.

2) Can I fit a normal tap to it?

Yes — it has a tap hole provision, so a standard deck-mounted basin tap or mixer fits directly, with no site drilling of the ceramic.

3) Table top or wall hung — which should I choose?

Table top if you have or want a counter, which gives you somewhere to put things. Wall hung if floor space is tight — it frees the area beneath entirely and makes cleaning the floor easier.

4) Does it splash more because it's small?

It can, at high flow. A smaller bowl gives water less room to settle. Pairing it with a tap that has a good aerator and moderate flow rate largely solves it.

5) What else do I need to order?
