Jaquar Single Piece Slim Concealed Cistern (JCS-WHT-2400FS) is an in-wall flushing system on a floor-mounted frame, with a dual flush mechanism and an S-type drain connection — for a wall hung WC.

The floor-mounted frame is what makes this version useful, and it is worth understanding what it changes. The frame stands on the floor and transfers the load downwards rather than relying on the wall behind it, and it is rated to 500 kg. That makes it the sensible choice where the wall cannot be trusted to carry a suspended load — lightweight drywall, glass partitions, hollow block. The WC itself is still wall hung either way; what changes is where the weight goes.

Being slim matters where wall depth is limited. A conventional concealed cistern needs a deep false wall; a slim cistern achieves the same result in less depth, and in a compact Indian bathroom the depth you do not give up to the wall is floor space you keep.

The dual flush gives a 3 litre half flush and a 6 litre full flush. Over a household's daily use the difference between flushing 3 litres and 6 litres every time is substantial, and it is the single easiest water saving available in a bathroom.

The S-type drain holds a permanent water seal in a curved section of the drain path. That standing water is what physically blocks sewer gases from travelling back up into the room — a trap that dries out is the usual reason an otherwise clean bathroom starts to smell.

And the front access panel is the detail that pays off years later. The flush and inlet valves are the parts that eventually need attention, and the panel behind the flush plate lets a plumber reach them from the front, without breaking tiles.

1) Why choose the floor mount version?

Because of where the weight goes. The floor-mount frame stands on the floor and transfers its load downwards, rated to 500 kg, rather than relying on the wall behind it. That makes it the safer choice when your walls are non-structural or lightweight — drywall, glass or hollow brick. Note that the WC itself is still wall hung; what changes is how the frame is supported, not the type of pan.

2) What is an S-type drain, and why does it matter?

It is a curved drain path that retains a small standing pool of water, creating an airtight seal between the sewer pipe and your bathroom. That water seal is what physically stops sewer gases travelling back up into the room. Confirm your waste routing is S-type — running down into the floor — before the frame is embedded, because it cannot be changed afterwards.

3) What else do I need to buy?

Two things. A Jaquar flush control plate, which is a separate purchase so the cistern can be finished in any design and finish — we stock it bundled with the Kubix and Alive plates. And a wall hung WC pan, which is also separate and is the most expensive item to overlook. Your plumber will also need connection pipes specific to your layout.

4) How is it serviced once it is hidden in the wall?

Through the front access panel behind the flush plate. The actuator plate removes and the panel gives a plumber direct access to the internal flush and inlet valves — the parts that eventually need attention — without breaking a single tile.

5) Can it be fitted during a renovation?

Yes, but it is not a swap. Because the cistern and frame sit inside the wall cavity, the wall section where the WC will sit has to be opened up. The frame and cistern are installed and fully tested first, and only then is the wall sealed and tiled over — running the flush and leak checks before tiling is essential.
