Jaquar Aquamax Thermostatic Shower Mixer
Jaquar Aquamax Exposed Part Kit of Thermostatic Shower Mixer is the visible wall-mounted trim for a concealed thermostatic shower system with a 3-way diverter — available in three design ranges, all in chrome. A thermostatic mixer holds your chosen water temperature steady even when pressure changes elsewhere in the house, so the shower doesn't run cold when someone opens a tap or flushes a cistern downstairs.
Before You Order — Concealed Body Required
- This is an exposed part kit, not a complete mixer. What you receive is the visible wall plate, handles, and escutcheons
- The working valve is a separate product. The thermostatic cartridge and valve body sit inside the wall — Jaquar's concealed body ALD-683N — and must be purchased separately
- The concealed body goes in before tiling. It is built into the wall during first-fix plumbing, so it needs to be ordered and installed at the right stage of the job
- Order both together unless the concealed body is already installed in your wall — for example if you're replacing or upgrading the visible trim on an existing Jaquar system
- If you're unsure what is already in your wall, send us a photo of the existing installation and we'll help you identify it before you order
The 3-way diverter is what makes this a full shower system control rather than a simple on/off valve. One handle sets and holds the temperature; the other selects which outlet the water goes to — typically an overhead rain shower, a hand shower, and a third outlet such as body jets or a bath spout. You set your temperature once and switch between outlets without having to rebalance hot and cold each time.
Because everything mechanical is concealed in the wall, the only thing on view is the plate and handles — which is why Jaquar offers the same working valve behind three different design ranges. Kubix Prime is squared and geometric, Opal Prime is softly rounded, and Alive is a slim contemporary profile. Choose whichever matches the rest of your bathroom fittings; the function is identical across all three.
Key Features
- Thermostatic temperature control: Holds your set temperature despite pressure changes elsewhere in the house
- 3-way diverter: Feeds up to three outlets — overhead shower, hand shower, and a third such as body jets or bath spout
- Concealed installation: Only the plate and handles are visible; the valve body is hidden in the wall
- Three design ranges: Kubix Prime, Opal Prime, or Alive — same function, different look
- Chrome finish: Matches the majority of Indian bathroom fittings
- Trim-only replacement possible: The visible kit can be changed later without disturbing tiling or the concealed body
Choosing Your Range
| Range | Product Code | Design Character | Concealed Body Required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kubix Prime | KUP-CHR-35683NKPM | Squared, geometric — suits contemporary and minimalist bathrooms | ALD-683N |
| Opal Prime | OPP-CHR-15683NKPM | Softly rounded — suits classic and transitional bathrooms | ALD-683N |
| Alive | ALI-CHR-85683NK | Slim contemporary profile | ALD-683N |
All three deliver identical thermostatic performance — the difference is purely the look of the visible plate and handles. Choose the range that matches your other bathroom fittings.

How a Concealed Thermostatic System Goes Together
Order of Work
- At first-fix plumbing stage, the concealed body (ALD-683N) is fixed into the wall recess and connected to the hot and cold supplies
- The three outlet connections are run to the overhead shower, hand shower, and third outlet position
- The installation is pressure-tested for leaks before anything is closed up
- The wall is closed, plastered, and tiled, leaving the body's face flush to the finished tile line
- Once tiling is complete, this exposed part kit is fitted over the concealed body — plate, then handles
- The thermostatic temperature limit is set and the system commissioned
Steps 1 to 4 must be completed by your plumber before this kit can be fitted. If your bathroom is already tiled and no concealed body was installed, this kit cannot be used without opening the wall.
Recommended Applications
Where this fits best
- New bathroom builds: Specified at design stage alongside the concealed body
- Full bathroom renovations: Where walls are open and being re-tiled anyway
- Multi-outlet shower areas: Overhead rain shower plus hand shower plus body jets or bath spout
- Homes with children or elderly residents: Thermostatic control reduces the risk of sudden temperature swings
- Trim upgrades: Refreshing the visible plate on an existing compatible Jaquar concealed system

1) Is this a complete shower mixer, or do I need anything else?
You will need one more part. This is an exposed part kit — the visible wall plate and handles only. The working thermostatic valve sits inside the wall and is a separate product, Jaquar's concealed body ALD-683N, sold separately. On its own, this kit cannot deliver water. Order both together unless a compatible concealed body is already installed in your wall.
2) What does a thermostatic mixer actually do?
It holds the water at the temperature you set, even when supply pressure changes. If someone opens a tap or flushes a cistern elsewhere in the house, an ordinary mixer would swing hot or cold — a thermostatic valve compensates automatically. It's particularly worth having in homes with children or elderly residents.
3) What is the 3-way diverter for?
It lets one mixer feed three separate outlets — commonly an overhead rain shower, a hand shower, and a third such as body jets or a bath spout. You set the temperature once and switch between outlets without rebalancing hot and cold each time.
4) Which of the three ranges should I choose?
Purely on appearance — all three perform identically. Kubix Prime is squared and geometric, Opal Prime is softly rounded, and Alive has a slim contemporary profile. Pick whichever matches your other bathroom fittings, since only the plate and handles are visible once installed.
5) Can this be fitted in a bathroom that is already tiled?
Only if a compatible concealed body was already installed in the wall before tiling — for instance if you're upgrading the visible trim on an existing Jaquar system. If no concealed body is in the wall, fitting this kit means opening up and re-tiling. Check what's behind your existing plate before ordering, and send us a photo if you're unsure.
