Faber Hood Class Pro 60 cm is a straightforward wall-mounted kitchen chimney with 1000 m³/hr of suction and a 3-layer baffle filter, in matte black. The 60 cm width suits a 2–4 burner hob, which covers most Indian kitchens.

The baffle filter is what makes it suited to Indian cooking. Oil-laden vapour hits the stainless steel baffles and is forced to change direction sharply, which flings the grease out of the airstream and lets clean air through. Because the baffles are solid stainless steel rather than mesh, they never need replacing — you pull them out and put them through the dishwasher, or wash them by hand. That's a genuine running-cost difference against mesh-filter chimneys, which need periodic filter replacement.

Controls are deliberately simple: a 3-speed push button with a separate button for the light, so you can use the lamp without running the motor. Two 2W LEDs light the hob. 2) What is a baffle filter, and does it need replacing?

Baffle filters are curved stainless steel plates that force oily vapour to change direction sharply, separating grease from the airstream. Because they're solid steel rather than mesh, they never need replacing — wash them by hand or in a dishwasher. That's an ongoing saving over mesh-filter chimneys.

3) How often should I clean the filters?

Roughly every 4 to 6 weeks with regular Indian cooking, sooner if you fry a lot. A clogged baffle filter chokes airflow, so suction drops noticeably and the motor works harder — cleaning them on schedule is what keeps the chimney performing.

4) Is 1000 m³/hr enough for my kitchen?

For a typical Indian home kitchen with a 2–4 burner hob and reasonable ventilation, yes. If you have an open-plan kitchen, a large hob, or cook heavily fried food daily, a 1200–1500 m³/hr model will clear smoke faster.

5) How does this compare to an auto-clean chimney?

This is a manual-clean model — you remove and wash the baffle filters yourself. Auto-clean chimneys heat their internals so collected oil drains into a collector, which cuts the cleaning chore but costs considerably more. If you don't mind washing filters every few weeks, this gives the same suction for far less.
