Product Description

Pidilite M-Seal Phataphat is a high-performance, multi-purpose, two-part epoxy compound designed for quick emergency repairs, sealing leakages, and joining diverse substrates. The 90g retail pack contains two individually sealed blocks — Resin and Hardener — packaged to be blended in a strict 1:1 proportion by volume or weight. Once kneaded into a uniform, single colour, the moldable putty easily fills voids, fills deep surface cracks, and stops fluid seepage instantly.

Engineered to set rapidly within 25 to 30 minutes at standard room temperatures, it provides an efficient fix that minimizes machinery or plumbing downtime. When fully cured, it forms a hard material layer that is waterproof, weatherproof, and chemically resilient against normal heat, moisture, and mild corrosive fluids. This makes it a standard choice across plumbing frameworks, industrial castings, automotive components, and home DIY renovation tasks.

Key Features

  • Rapid Room-Temperature Setting: Commences hardening within 25–30 minutes to conclude emergency seal repairs quickly
  • Exceptional Substrate Grip: Creates a durable bond across ferrous metals, non-ferrous casting, porcelain, ceramics, glass, wood, and concrete
  • High Chemical & Heat Resistance: Unaffected by ambient operational temperatures, weathering, steam exposure, or diluted industrial fluids
  • Post-Cure Mechanical Versatility: The dried, hardened compound can be drilled, filed, sanded down, or painted to match surfaces seamlessly
  • Excellent Electrical Insulation: High dielectric strength properties make it suitable for insulating and sealing open cable joints or junction box cracks

FAQs

1) How do I know if the Resin and Hardener are mixed properly?

The Resin and Hardener sticks come in distinct separate colours. You must knead them together using your fingers until the separate shades blend entirely into a single, streak-free uniform colour. If there are remaining light or dark lines visible in the putty mass, the chemistry will cure unevenly and could fail under pressure.

2) Can M-Seal Phataphat be applied to wet or running water leaks?

For the strongest adhesion bond, the application surface must be cleaned, thoroughly dried, and stripped of rust or oily grease contaminants before applying the putty. If trying to isolate a pressurized water pipeline or pipe leak, shut off the main water valve first, dry the pipe exterior, apply the putty, and wait for it to harden completely before restarting water pressure.

3) How long do I have to shape and apply the compound after mixing?

M-Seal Phataphat features a rapid working pot-life of approximately 10 minutes at 30°C. You must apply, press, and shape the putty immediately over the joint space after mixing. Do not manipulate or try to reposition the putty after 10 minutes, as it will disturb the internal chemical polymer matrix chain setup.

4) Is it safe to use this compound on high-temperature steam lines or exhaust systems?

M-Seal provides highly stable protection under regular residential ambient heat and mild hot water exposure. However, it is not engineered for direct exposure to open fire combustion zones or extreme engine exhaust components. For automotive exhausts or engine blocks with high operational heat limits, specialized high-temperature silicone or metallic sealants are recommended.

5) Can this product be used to seal cracks in plastic or PVC pipes?

Yes, it demonstrates reliable adhesion across common plastics, PVC pipe frames, and asbestos boards. However, ensure the smooth plastic surface is lightly scuffed with sandpaper or emery cloth before application to give the epoxy putty an optimized mechanical anchor area to grip onto.
