KEI Homecab 90MTR Wire is a single-core, multi-strand flame-retardant house wire for concealed domestic and commercial wiring, supplied in 90-metre coils across four conductor sizes and five colours. It's KEI's mainstream FR house wire — the everyday choice for independent houses, apartments, and low-rise residential work.

The conductor is 99.97% pure electrolytic grade bright annealed copper, drawn as fine multi-strand for flexibility. That flexibility is what makes it practical to pull through conduit around bends without kinking, which is most of the labour in a concealed wiring job. FR PVC insulation resists the spread of flame and holds up to heat, moisture, and the general abuse of being pulled through a wall.

Sizes run from 1.0 sq mm through 4.0 sq mm, and the five colours let you follow standard wiring convention across phase, neutral, and earth so that anyone opening the board later can read the installation.

1) What is the difference between Homecab and Conflame Green+?

Homecab is a flame retardant (FR) wire — its insulation resists the spread of fire. Conflame Green+ is FR-LSH, which additionally restricts smoke and toxic halogen gas emission during a fire, and is lead-free. For low-rise homes, FR is compliant; for high-rise, commercial, hotel, and hospital work, FR-LSH is generally what's specified.

2) Which size should I buy?

See the size guide above for typical usage. But cable sizing depends on your actual connected load, run length, and installation method — have a licensed electrician confirm it rather than sizing from a table alone. Undersized cable is a fire risk.

3) How much wiring does a 90-metre coil cover?

It depends entirely on your layout and how many separate runs a circuit needs. As a rough planning figure, electricians commonly reckon one coil per circuit on a typical residential layout, but have your electrician measure the actual runs before you order quantities.

4) Is this genuine ISI-marked wire?

KEI Homecab is manufactured to IS 694, the Indian standard for PVC insulated cables for working voltages up to 1100 V. Check the ISI mark printed on the wire and coil packaging on receipt.

5) Can I use this for outdoor or underground wiring?

No. This is a single-core house wire for internal, conduit-protected wiring. Outdoor, direct-buried, or exposed runs need armoured or sheathed cable rated for those conditions.
