1) Which blade should I use with this?

Match the blade to the material. A continuous-rim blade gives chip-free edges in ceramic and porcelain tile; a segmented blade clears heat better and cuts faster in concrete, brick, and stone. Whichever you fit, it must be 110 mm and rated for at least 13,000 r/min.

2) What thickness can it cut?

Up to 30 mm depth of cut, which covers standard tile, most marble and granite slabs, and shallow concrete work. Thicker material needs cutting from both faces or a larger machine.

3) Can I use it for wet cutting?

Only if your setup is specifically rated and configured for water feed. Do not introduce water to a tool that isn't designed for it — mixing mains electricity and water is an electrocution risk. For dust control on dry cuts, use extraction and an N95 mask.

4) How is this better than using an angle grinder?

A marble cutter has a base plate and depth setting, so it runs flat on the surface and cuts to a consistent depth in a straight line. A grinder is handheld and free — fine for rough work, much harder to keep straight across a tile you can't afford to ruin.

5) Why does my tile chip at the edge of the cut?

Usually one of three things: a segmented blade where a continuous rim is needed, feeding too fast, or starting the cut before the blade is at full speed. Slow the feed, let the blade do the work, and score from the finished face for the cleanest edge.
