1) What is the difference between an impact drill and a rotary hammer?

An impact drill like this one adds a rapid vibration to the rotation, which is enough for brick and light concrete. A rotary hammer uses a piston mechanism delivering far higher energy per blow and is what you need for reinforced concrete and heavy repetitive drilling. 2) Does "13mm" mean it drills 13mm holes in steel?

No — and this catches people out. 13 mm is the concrete capacity and the chuck size. Maximum capacity in steel is Ø10 mm and in wood Ø25 mm. Pushing a 13 mm bit through steel will stall the motor and can burn out the armature.

3) Can I use it as a screwdriver?

Yes. It has forward and reverse rotation plus variable speed, so it drives and removes screws. Switch to plain drill mode first — never drive screws with the impact function engaged, as the hammering will chew up the screw head.

4) What is a "plastic body" version and does it affect durability?
