Asian Paints TruCare Sparc Interior Wall Primer is the water-thinnable white undercoat that goes on before your emulsion. It does three things a top coat can't: it seals porous walls so the emulsion sits on the surface instead of soaking in, it gives the top coat something to grip so the finish doesn't flake, and it resists alkali, blocking cement salts in masonry from attacking the paint film from behind. Because it makes the top coat go further, priming usually lowers the total cost of the job. It is also fortified with fungicide for humid interiors and gives a clean white base so the top-coat colour reads true.

Application Guidelines — The Complete System
- Fill Cracks: Use SmartCare Crack Seal on any cracks first

1) Do I really need a primer, or can I just apply more top coat?
You need it, and it usually saves money. Primer seals the surface so the emulsion doesn't soak in, which increases top-coat coverage, and primer costs less per litre than emulsion. It also provides adhesion and alkali resistance that a top coat can't supply on its own.
2) How many coats of primer do I need?
Asian Paints' recommended system uses primer twice: one coat directly on the prepared masonry, then another over the putty before the top coat. Both matter.
3) How do I thin it?
Mix it 1:1 by volume with clean water, which means 10 litres of water for a 10 L bucket. Use the thinned primer within 24 hours, so mix only what you'll apply that day.
4) Can I use it on exterior walls?
No. This is an interior primer. Exterior walls face UV, rain and much greater thermal movement, and need a primer made for those conditions, such as TruCare Exterior Wall Primer.
5) How much does it cover?
About 200–220 sq ft per litre per coat on smooth plaster, depending on how porous the wall is. A 10 L bucket covers roughly 2,000–2,200 sq ft per coat, and a 20 L bucket roughly 4,000–4,400 sq ft.
6) What does the 4-Year System Performance Warranty need?
