Anchor Roma Fan Regulator gives you simple, reliable control of your ceiling fan's speed in 5 fixed steps using a standard rotary knob. Installation Guidelines

1) Is this a resistor-type regulator?

No. It is capacitor-based, using metallised polypropylene capacitors. Old resistor-type regulators wasted energy as heat, were bulky and often hummed. This regulator stays cool, saves energy at lower speeds and runs quietly.

2) Is it stepless?

No. It has 5 fixed speed steps. If you need smooth, continuously variable speed, choose a stepless electronic regulator instead.

3) Is the knob 360°?

No. It is a standard fixed rotary knob that turns between a start and end position. To go from speed 5 back to a lower speed, turn the knob back the other way.

4) Will it work with my ceiling fan?

It works with most standard induction-motor ceiling fans up to 100W. It is not suitable for BLDC (energy-saving) fans that come with their own remote or electronic speed control – check your fan's manual first.

5) Why does my fan hum?

A capacitor-based regulator normally runs quietly with standard ceiling fans. If you hear a hum, check that all connections are tight and that the fan is a standard induction-motor ceiling fan within 100W. If it continues, the unit or fan may need to be checked.

6) Do I need a separate fan switch?

Yes. A separate on/off switch (sold separately) lets you turn the fan off completely without changing the regulator setting, so your preferred speed is ready next time.

7) Can I use it for exhaust fans or table fans?
