- Surface Preparation: Clean the wood thoroughly, sand smooth, and remove dust, grease and old paint
- Thin the Primer: Use Mineral Turpentine Oil (MTO) at 5–10% by volume (max 100 ml per litre). Do not thin past 10% — over-thinning breaks down the oil binders so the primer can't seal the pores or block resin bleeding. Stir thoroughly

1) Why do I need wood primer before painting?

2) Does wood primer really prevent termite damage?
The primer gives termite protection as a preventive measure, not a complete termite treatment. It creates a protective barrier that deters termites. For a severe infestation, use a dedicated termite treatment before priming and painting.
3) Can I use wood primer on metal surfaces?
No. It is formulated for wood only. For metal, use Asian Paints TruCare Yellow Metal Primer, which gives rust and corrosion protection. The wrong primer leads to poor adhesion and early failure.
4) How much primer do I need?

5) How long should I wait before painting after the primer?
