All parts are matched to work together, so there is no guesswork about compatibility.

Visible fittings have 1.2 mm SS 304 stainless steel covers, and every clamp is lined with non-slip gaskets to protect 8 – 12 mm toughened glass. 1) Why buy a combo set instead of separate parts?

2) Does one set cover the whole door?

Yes. 3) Which kit should I choose?

Choose the Double Spring Kit (SFS-8400) for heavy, busy main entrances with doors up to 120 kg and 1100 mm (3' 7") wide. Choose the Double Spring Kit (SFS-7400) for standard doors up to 100 kg and 1000 mm (3' 3") wide. Choose the Surface-Mount Kit (SHFS-100) when the floor cannot be dug, such as finished marble or granite floors or post-tensioned slabs.

4) Why does the Surface-Mount Kit (SHFS-100) have only 5 pieces?

The Hydraulic Floor Spring (SHFS-100) clamps directly onto the bottom corner of the glass and acts as its own bottom pivot. So a separate Bottom Patch (SPF-3) is not needed and is left out of this kit.

5) My door is next to a wall, not a glass side panel. Will this kit work?

The kit includes the Over Panel Side Panel Connecting Patch with Pivot (SPF-1), which joins the glass over-panel to a glass side panel. If your door sits next to a wall or pillar, you will need the Wall Mounted Over Panel Patch with Pivot (SPF-4) instead, which is sold separately.

6) Can these be used on wooden doors?

No. All the fittings are made to clamp onto toughened glass with gaskets and through-bolts. Wooden doors need standard hinges, closers and locks made for wood.

7) What glass thickness do the sets support?

All fittings are made for 8 mm to 12 mm toughened glass. The gaskets in each fitting grip the glass firmly and spread the clamping pressure evenly.

8) Should I install it myself?

We recommend an experienced glass fitter. The closer, pivot and glass must be aligned accurately, and the floor box for Double Spring Kits needs careful cutting and levelling.
