Each piece measures 70 x 12 x 12 mm at its thickest end, and the pack contains 100 pieces, enough for a full site or installation crew.

1) What is the size of each piece?

Each wedge measures 70 mm long, 12 mm wide and 12 mm thick at its thickest end, tapering down from there. The dimensions are for a single piece; one pack contains 100 pieces.

2) Can they be used outdoors or with wet mortar?

Yes. Seasoned hardwood copes well with wet mortar, rain and humidity for the time needed on site, and swells far less than softwood. As with any natural wood, very long exposure to constant moisture will eventually cause wear.

3) Will they split when hammered under heavy stone?

Dense hardwood resists splitting well, so you can tap the wedges firmly into place with a mallet or hammer. Drive them gradually rather than with very hard blows, especially near knots, for the best results.

4) Are all pieces identical in colour?

Being natural wood, pieces vary slightly in colour, grain and knots. Their size and taper stay consistent across the pack.

5) Can I cut them to a shorter length?

Yes. Trim them on site with a hand saw or cutter if a gap needs a shorter wedge.
